Awards and Recognition

  • Achieved the American Heart/Stroke Association Gold Plus award for excellence in quality for stroke and TIA management in 2010, 2011 and 2012; in addition, St. Catherine also received Honor Roll recognition for thrombolytic management of acute ischemic stroke in 2011
  • Awarded for excellence in maternity care and bariatric surgery by HealthGrades, 2010 to 2011
  • Only hospital-based endoscopy center on Long Island to earn the Endoscopy Center of Excellence designation for promoting quality by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for 2011 through 2014, along with a certificate of recognition
  • Designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
  • Named a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology
  • The only community hospital on Long Island, and 1 of 36 in the country, awarded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Outstanding Leadership Award for Achievements in Eliminating Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia, May 2011
  • St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center has been named one of the best skilled nursing facilities nationwide by U.S. News & World Report, 2012
