Community Residents Fall into Wellness at St. Catherine’s Annual Health Fair

On Saturday, September 29, 2014, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center hosted its Annual Community Health Fair. The event was co-sponsored by St. Catherine’s Medical Staff, Suffolk Anesthesia Associates, New York Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, Hunter EMS Ambulance, Island Surgical and Vascular Group, Nesconset Center for Nursing and Rehab and J. Kings Food Service Professionals.

The health fair, which was free and open to the public, offered free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, prostate, skin cancer and vision.  In addition, to the free screenings, the hospital administered 345 free flu shots.  There were more than 60 informational booths providing free health educational materials. St. Catherine also collaborated with Long Island Blood Services where attendees could also donate blood at the fair.
