Kristin Thayer, MSN, RNC, CBC, Appointed Perinatal Lactation Coordinator
Kristin Thayer, MSN, RNC, CBC, has been appointed Clinical Nurse Specialist/Perinatal Lactation Coordinator at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center. Ms. Thayer has been a labor and delivery nurse at the hospital since 1995. She holds a Masters Degree in Nursing Education and has been actively involved with the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Safe Motherhood Initiative, Mother’s Circle of Hope—postpartum support group and Baby-Friendly designation. She has been involved in many collaboratives, such as breastfeeding exclusivity and elimination of early elective delivery initiatives. Ms. Thayer will facilitate the New Beginnings Prenatal Informational Sessions and Perinatal Breastfeeding classes along with classes on infant care and infant CPR. In addition to increasing breastfeeding exclusivity rates, she will facilitate breastfeeding support groups as well as postpartum depression support groups.

Ms. Thayer resides in Sayville with her husband and two daughters. She promotes a healthy lifestyle and is an active participant in local community fairs and events. She is an avid runner and enjoys yoga.
