Miles for Smiles Club is at it Again!

December 10th, 2014

A facility-wide decorating initiative at St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center, to bring the Christmas season to life left residents, visitors and staff in awe. After a steal the gift game of Christmas songs, to determine what unit would decorate in what theme—each unit was given a box filled with basic items to help bring that particular Christmas song to life—from the classic Charlie Brown Christmas to How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Staff members became so enthralled in the spirit of Christmas and decorating that they even purchased additional items to make each unit a proper Holiday Spectacular for the residents.

Chief Administrative Officer James Ryan decorated his office in complete Whoville. Residents, staff members and visitors were all amazed at the efforts made, one family member commented, “I am so impressed by the administrative Grinch-Lair.”

It was a multidisciplinary effort to transport all the residents throughout the nursing home to see the different units—but one that was truly appreciated by all. The decorations will stay up through January 6, 2014, so make your way over to the Nursing Home for some good old holiday cheer!
