St. Catherine of Siena Staff Make Sundays Healthier in Huntington Station

On Sunday, October 15, 2017, a group of 13 dedicated volunteers from St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center aimed to make Sundays a little Healthier at St. Hugh of Lincoln in Huntington Station. The team administered 72 free flu vaccinations, and provided 36 blood pressure screenings.

The volunteers are a special group of staff members who take time out of their schedules to support the Catholic Health Services (CHS) Healthy Sundays Program. Healthy Sundays, exemplifies CHS's mission to care for those in need, and is one of the system's most prolific outreach efforts. Launched in 2005, the Healthy Sundays network provides preventive health screenings and education to members of medically underserved communities on Long Island. Partnering with more than 35 parishes and community centers across Nassau and Suffolk, the initiative continues to grow, offering the expertise of hundreds of CHS volunteers.
