St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center’s Retention Committee hosted a special dinner on Thursday, October 26, for nurses who have worked at St. Catherine’s for more than 20 years. In appreciation for outstanding patient care, each nurse was given a pin, signifying his or her years of dedication and commitment to St. Catherine’s, and when added together, totaled 2,600 years of service. Sharon Kennish, RN, St. Catherine’s Executive Director & Chief Administrative Officer who attended the dinner said, “ There is a wonderful spirit of cooperation, a sense of teamwork and camaraderie here at St. Catherine’s. It was an honor to attend a celebration of nurses who have treated our patients with professionalism and dignity for 20 years or more.” She continued, “The turnout was wonderful and Gara Edelstein, RN, Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer, Sharon Cash, RN, Nurse Recruiter, and the Retention Committee did an exceptional job in organizing and recognizing the hospital’s nursing staff.
