The American Cancer Society
of Suffolk County selects St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center,
Oncology Floor to be the Recipient of the Gift of Hope
Smithtown, New York – St. Catherine
of Siena Medical Center was proud to be a recipient of such
a generous donation. Volunteers hand delivered the beautiful
vases filled with blooming daffodils to each patient, brightening
the lives of many in need of inspirational hope.
The Gift of Hope is a program coordinated by the American
Cancer Society, sponsored through donations, where bouquets
of daffodil stems in vases are delivered anonymously to patients
with a diagnosis of cancer.
Regional Vice President Sylvia Diaz explained “our
hope is that one-day the world will be free of cancer, and
the American Cancer Society’s exclusive symbol of this
hope is in the first flower of spring, the daffodil”.
For 35 years, Daffodil Days has empowered people to make
a difference in the fight against cancer by raising funds
and awareness to help eliminate the disease. Daffodil Days
is one of the American Cancer Society's oldest and most beloved
fundraising programs.
St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center is a member of Catholic
