Senator John J. Flanagan Secures $100,000 Grant for St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center

New York State Senator John J. Flanagan announced the awarding of a $100,000 grant for St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center from the Empire State Development Corp. Senator Flanagan, who was instrumental in securing the grant, presented the check to delighted Cardiac Services Unit staff members at St. Catherine's on January 19th. The funds will be applied to the purchase of high technology telemetry equipment for the newly renovated 42 patient Cardiac Services Unit (CSU).

Vincent DiRubbio, President and CEO said," We are grateful to Senator Flanagan for helping to secure the funding for our new Cardiac Services Unit. The state-of-the-art equipment increases St. Catherine's capacity to provide healthcare excellence close to home for our cardiac patients".

The expansion and renovation of the CSU provides optimal comprehensive intermediate cardiac services, utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to care with the addition of a cardiac monitoring system for precise and immediate reading and transmitting of cardiac rhythms. The CSU's upgraded facilities reflect twenty-first century efficiency and comfort.
