St. Catherine’s Spring
Gala 2006 Having a Good Time for A Good Cause
Spring has officially sprung at St. Catherine of Siena Medical
Center. On Saturday evening, April 29th, over 300 guests attended
the St. Catherine’s 2006 Spring Gala at the Hyatt Regency
Wind Watch in Hauppauge. During the black tie event, which
honored the Medical Staff of St. Catherine’s, an Honor
Roll, imprinted with every physician’s name, was presented
to Dr. Rashid Khan, President of the Medical Staff by Vincent
DiRubbio, President and CEO and Sister Elaine Callahan, OP,
Board of Trustee, Chairperson.
“We are honoring our Medical Staff for their commitment
and dedication to the practice of medicine. Our highly skilled
staff of physicians are the backbone of the hospital. We wish
to recognize, acknowledge and applaud their work,” said
Vincent DiRubbio, President and CEO.
The Spring Gala, St. Catherine’s largest fundraising
event this year, brought in over $200,000, which will benefit
the expansion and renovation of the Cardiac Catheterization
Lab., which is scheduled to open in the fall. The expansion
of the of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. will enable St.
Catherine’s to respond to the growing demand for highly
specialized cardiac services in our area, including diagnosing
and treating coronary artery disease, cardiac arrhythmias,
and heart failure.
The Gala has increasingly grown over the past 5 years, which
reflects the partnerships developed within the community and
the support received by them. The success of the evening was
achieved in part by the planning and preparation of the Gala
committee.
The party was well attended by physicians, family, friends
and elected officials. Guests enthusiastically joined in the
celebration by congratulating and thanking the Medical Staff
for their years of service and dedication to the community.
