Be Our Valentine This Valentine's Day
February is American Heart Month and St. Catherine of Siena wants to know if you will be our Valentine this Valentine’s Day. The national day of love is the perfect time to learn about your risks for heart diseases and stay “heart healthy” for you and your loved ones.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention reports that cardiovascular disease—including heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure—is the number one killer of women and men in the United States. It is also the leading cause of disability, preventing American from working and enjoying family activities. Taking the time to understand heart disease and risks factors could prevent many of these deaths.
Join St. Catherine’s Community Outreach Program at a special mini Heart Health Day on Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. The free event will be held at the Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center, 52 Route 25A, Smithtown, NY 11787 in the Father Fred Hill Community Meeting Room on the lower level. Attendees will be given the unique opportunity to learn about heart health risks, nutrition tips and will be offered free health screenings and giveaways.
