Dr. Mickel Khlat Named Chief Medical Officer

Mickel L. Khlat, DO, MBA, RPh, has been appointed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.

Dr. Khlat is board certified in internal and geriatric medicine, and has been a valuable member of the medical staff as a hospitalist for the past nine years. 

Prior to his new role as CMO at the Medical Center, Dr. Khlat was the Director of the Hospitalist Program— a position he diligently held for the past six years. He also holds the position of Chairman of Hospital Medicine for Catholic Health Services (CHS), where he helps to ensure CHS facilities are utilizing best practices.   

“I am excited that Dr. Khlat has joined our administrative team,” said St. Catherine’s Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Paul J. Rowland. “The level of expertise that Dr. Khlat brings will be of great benefit to the continued success of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center and Catholic Health Services.”

St. Catherine of Siena is located on the north shore of Long Island in Smithtown. The campus is comprised of a 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital; a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; and a 60,000 square foot medical office building.
