Free Health Screenings added to Services at Pep Boys of Lake Grove
On Saturday, July 7, 2018, frequenters of the Pep Boys of Lake Grove, walked into the well-known establishment in search of traditional car services and products, and encountered St. Catherine’s Community Outreach Program with a new service—free blood pressure screenings and healthcare information.
In addition to the free screenings and healthcare information offered, St. Catherine’s Community Outreach Coordinator Mary Ellen McCrossen, provided information about an upcoming Men’s Health Event to be hosted by the hospital. St. Catherine of Siena will host a complimentary Men’s Health Event about Stroke and Aortic Aneurysms on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at The Old Street Pub in Smithtown. The evening event will follow a question and answer format with St. Catherine’s Director of Vascular Surgery, Wound Healing Center and Hyperbaric Medicine Morad Awadallah, MD, RPVI.
According to the American Heart Association, stroke remains a leading cause of death in the United States. Aortic aneurysms are another less common, but equally deadly, medical condition that disproportionately affect men. Therefore, St. Catherine of Siena is committed to educating the community about these chronic diseases. To register for the event, please call (631) 870-3444. Space is limited and registration is required, so please respond early.
St. Catherine of Siena’s Community Outreach Program is committed to providing access and knowledge of health resources to the communities of Long Island. The program is grounded in the importance and value of emphasizing good health, fitness, safety and the promotion of early detection of illness or disease.
