Holistic Resources for Veterans and Families
St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center participated in the Fifth Annual Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Project Day of Wellness on Saturday, June 9th at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches. The free event was hosted by the Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Project—a joint initiative of Suffolk County United Veterans and Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency. In its fifth year, the event is sponsored for Veterans and their families to provide connectivity to resources for those dealing with post-service transition issues.
The Day of Wellness is focused on holistic disciplines, was is attended by Veterans across the island. St. Catherine’s Community Outreach Coordinator Mary Ellen McCrossen, along with family medicine physician Elizabeth Acevedo-Danzi, DO of St. Catherine’s Primary Care Group were in attendance. Dr. Danzi is a strong believer of preventative medicine and supports a holistic approach to mental and physical well-being. “I am thrilled to be here today to help spread awareness about alternative resources, especially for our Veterans and their families,” said Dr. Danzi.
St. Catherine of Siena’s Community Outreach Program is committed to providing access and knowledge of health resources to the communities of Long Island.
