Little Hats, Big Hearts - Special Delivery
The littlest arrivals at St. Catherine of Siena’s Maternity Department received handmade hats, just in time to adorn their heads in red this Valentine’s Day. The festive hats are token of awareness, gifted by the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign and serve a greater purpose, to celebrate healthy babies and mothers during Heart Health month celebrated nationally during February.
Heart disease remains the number one killer of Americans and congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defects in the country. The Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign aims to honors babies, mothers and heart healthy lives in a very special way. Through the program, the AHA, in partnership with other organizations can raise awareness, provide resources, and inspire mothers to take their family’s health to heart while also raising awareness about congenital heart defects.
