Michael Silverman Named COO of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center
Catholic Health Services (CHS) has named Michael Silverman, MBA, PT, as chief operating officer of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown.
The Wantagh resident will report to the President of St. Catherine and St Charles, James O’Connor, and will focus on managing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions at St. Catherine as well as new business development.
“It is an honor to be selected as the new chief operating officer of St. Catherine of Siena,” said Silverman. “The hospital has a long history of providing excellent care and I look forward to being part of the team that will expand and enhance Long Island’s access to high quality, compassionate, patient-centered care. Most of all, I am excited to join and work with the dedicated and excellent team at St. Catherine.”
Silverman joins CHS from Rothman Orthopaedics where he served as senior director of operations and strategy. With more than 10 years of experience as a healthcare executive, he has also held senior-level positions at Northwell Health–Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY, and the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.
He has a master’s in healthcare administration from CUNY Baruch College, a master’s in physical therapy and a bachelor’s from Quinnipiac University.
