Newly Appointed Director of Education
Sinead Suszcynski, RN, MSN, WHNP-BC, CPHIMS, has been named Director of Nursing Education and Training at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.
Suszcynski has been with St. Catherine of Siena since 2006. She started as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Maternal Child Health from 2006 to 2011, whereby she spearheaded initiatives including electronic fetal monitoring and nursing documentation, developed and facilitated a perinatal mood disorder support group. She assisted with hospital-based orientation, and participated, collected, and analyzed data for quality initiatives including GNYHA Perinatal Safety Collaborative and New York State Breastfeeding Quality in hospitals.
In 2011, Suszcynski was promoted to Clinical Nurse Specialist/Informatics Coordinator, where she led St. Catherine of Siena, to go live with the EPIC electronic medical record—the first hospital to do so in the CHS system. In addition, she was an adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University from 2007 to 2013 whereby she was the clinical instructor for undergraduate students in obstetrics.
Suszcynski resides in Commack with her husband and three sons.
