Nurses Rising on the Clinical Ladder
The Clinical Ladder Program at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center held its annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 08, 2018. The ceremony was held to recognize and promote excellence in clinical nursing at the hospital, and increase career progression. The annual celebration is held during National Nurses Week, celebrated from May 6-12.
The Clinical Ladder program is committed to inspire and cultivate a culture of nursing excellence in the provision of direct patient care across the continuum. Through the program nurses enhance professionally, improving clinical skills as they conduct evidence-based research across various nursing specialties.
Each year the Clinical Ladder Committee selects a thematic message for the event, this year the theme was—Keys to Success. The room was filled with keys and inspirational words to fortify the theme—focus, purpose, courage—to name a few. At the awards ceremony, Chief Nursing Officer Mary Jane Finnegan commended all the nurses for their commitment to education and excellence. She recalled pioneer helpers of the word, including Mother Theresa and Harriet Tubman—sharing their most inspirational messages. Ms. Finnegan reminded all those in attendance that “successful people set realistic goals—and the clinicians here are true examples of that—I congratulate you all because you are guided by aim, vision and purpose.”
